Privacy

This page lists what this website and the Veliose dashboard collect, and why. Neither uses analytics, advertising or tracking cookies.

This website

  • No cookies for visitors. Reading the site sets no cookies. The site’s theme sets none and stores nothing in your browser. WordPress sets its own cookies only for people who sign in to edit the site.
  • Cloudflare. Cloudflare carries the site’s traffic and protects it from attacks. It sets no cookies on an ordinary visit. If it ever checks that a visit comes from a person, it sets a short-lived security cookie for that check (cf_clearance, or __cf_bm for its bot checks). These cookies are not used to follow you across other sites.
  • The Inter font, from Google Fonts. The site’s typeface is loaded from Google’s servers, so your browser sends Google its IP address and browser details when it fetches the font. Google Fonts sets no cookies.
  • Server logs. Like any website, the site’s host and Cloudflare keep standard request logs, such as IP address, browser and the page asked for, to run and protect the site.

The dashboard

  • Looking around. Anyone can open the dashboard without signing in. It sets one cookie, _streamlit_xsrf, a security token that protects it against forged requests. Nothing about you is saved.
  • Signing in. Making changes needs a sign-in with a Google account. Google tells the dashboard your name, email address and whether that address is verified, along with the other basic profile details Google includes. The dashboard keeps your sign-in in a cookie in your browser, _streamlit_user, for up to 30 days or until you sign out.
  • What is saved. Only people on the dashboard’s list of authorized email addresses can make changes. When one of them approves or rejects a draft, splits or merges a release note, or adds, checks, replaces or removes a connected account, their email address is saved with that change, so every change shows who made it. Nothing is saved for people who only look, or who sign in without being on the list.
  • How Google account details are used. Veliose uses them only to sign you in, to decide whether you may make changes, and to record who made a change. It does not share them, sell them or use them for anything else.
  • The Inter font. The dashboard loads Inter from Google Fonts too, and the same applies as above.
  • No usage statistics. The dashboard’s framework, Streamlit, can report usage statistics. That reporting is turned off.
  • Streamlit Community Cloud. The dashboard also runs on Streamlit Community Cloud, the copy shown inside the demo help site. Streamlit’s own cookies there are covered by its operator Snowflake’s privacy notice.

The demo’s data

The live demo runs on sample data: a sample product, with its own code repository, tickets and help site. No customer records are involved.
